St. Mary’s is an inner city parish committed to the spiritual growth of its members, to serving the hungry, and providing a safe and enriching place for children and youth. We embrace the diversity of our members and our neighborhood; young and old, black and white, gay and straight, poor and professional, as we share in worship, fellowship, and service to others.
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is a diverse community of believers meeting in the exciting, eclectic and expanding neighborhood of Jones Hill in Dorchester. Our Sunday Worship Services represent growing communities; come and join us. All are welcome at our table.
We have a rich history of service in the Jones Hill neighborhood; we run one of Dorchester’s most established food pantries. We are committed to seeing our community flourish, and to bringing new life to Dorchester and the surrounding neighborhoods.
We invite you to come worship with us, and to pray and to act for peace and justice in our city.
About the Episcopal Church
Anyone who seeks to be closer to God is equal in the eyes of this community.
“We welcome difference as the active presence of God’s Holy Spirit moving amongst us. Our witness is not to conformity but to community. As the Episcopal Church we are not concerned that everyone in the pews believes exactly the same thing, in the same way, at the same time. Instead, we are concerned that no one is left out of those pews because of what they believe, who they are, or where they come from.”
–Episcopal General Convention, 2006
