St. Mary’s is an inner city parish committed to the spiritual growth of its members, to serving the hungry, and providing a safe and enriching place for children and youth. We embrace the diversity of our members and our neighborhood; young and old, black and white, gay and straight, poor and professional, as we share in worship, fellowship, and service to others.

From the Rev. Edwin Johnson…

Patrick, one of our former vestry members, put it best when he said: “St. Mary’s, where you’ll never leave hungry.” If you are hungry for a deeper connection with God, a welcoming faith community, an opportunity to worship with others or even just some new friends, St. Mary’s is a…Continue reading “From the Rev. Why I Love St Mary’s

testimonials from parishioners and community members

This place is bursting at the seams with life. I think it rejuvenates me.

Cora

Ludy

I just love the place and the people.

Trevor

I like coming over here, and working the food pantry, and things like that. I like coming to church here … I’ve been a neighbor for a long time and know my way around, so, I guess it’s alright.

Frank

St Mary’s is a place of love where the many gifts of the diverse people of our neighborhood – of different races, ethnicities, languages, sexualities, gender identities, incomes – people who have lived in the neighborhood for generations, and people who just moved here – come together to love each other and lift up all the things that make us – each and all – holy to God and to holy each other.
